major in mass communication. help me?

im going to university of south florida and i would like to major mass communication with a concentration in puplic relation (PR person) the problem is am afraid that after i graduate i wont be able to get a job like i would if were to become a doctor. i dont want to be one of those people with a degree yet workin at burger king or something. my question is do you think its a good idea to pick that as a major?

    yes. virtually every company or organization has a public relations department or at least a public relations consultant (even if it’s just one person). PR is also very versatile. You could go the marketing route, the journalism route, the advertising route. AND the number one thing employers look for in an employee is good communication skills. So, that will ALWAYS be helpful!

    first of all, the people who have a degree and work at burger king are making more money than if they were working in the field their degree is in. if you want a job in mass communication, it’s all minimum wage or freelance (volunteer) unless you have connections and move to hollywood.
