My husband and I are thinking about immigrating to Canada in another 3 years. We are aged 28 and 27 respectively and have a 2 year old son. I have a BA in Mass Communication and 4 years experience as a Broadcast Jourmalist in Jamaica, and I am planning on doing my LLB (Law Degree) which will be completed in the next 3 years. My husband is also doing a BSc. in Banking and Finance. With such qualifications and experience, what’s the likelihood of our immigration applications being successful; the prospects avaliable for us to apply for jobs from here in Jamaica before we arrive in Canada while or before the immigration process is complete; what can we expect with regards to relocation, etc.

    I think you have to be white.
    Not that the canadian immigration are racist, they simply wont let blacks in.

    Canada’s immigration laws are very friendly. They’re importing Somalians who don’t even speak English by the thousands so I think you have a good chance!

    So far I can see that you have received the usual stupid, slanderous , idiots answer. Immigration to Canada can be a fairly simple process. The real criteria is a clean background, no criminal past or even driving violations. With your current resume of qualifications and the ability to be self sufficient and independent you should get the green light easily. I would suggest you contact the Canadian equivilent societies to ensure your Law degree and Business degree are considered valid and viable in Canada. You can always adjust whatever you may need to from there. Welcome to Canada. God’s country!

    You should apply now for Landed immigrant status, you have to apply from Jamaica, and it will take 2-3 years. Canada is a multicultural country, and all colors are welcome if they play fair with the immigration process.

    Don’t apply for jobs until you have your status approved.
    As for relocation, Canada’s weather (depening on location) ranges from mild to cold (even the mild is colder than you are used to.

    Use your 2-3 years to learn about cities and weather
