What can i do With a Mass Communications major?

I want to do something in either newspapaer journalism, advertising, or public relations. This seems like the best degree, but realistically what can kind of jobs can i expect with this major? Should i Pick a more specific major?

    Mass Comm is a pretty versatile major and can apply to alomost anything. Journalism, law, marketing, you name it. It’s probably perfect for the fields you’re looking into. Talk with your department advisor to see if there are specializations within the major that you can use to narrow your focus.

    This is a worthless basket weaving degree which is popular amongst college athletes.

    Theoretically, you have all kinds of choices, but in reality, that’s a field that’s flooded with graduates and really doesn’t have many jobs. If you’re really, really dedicated, go to a top school, and find internships, you have a chance at a job in communications. But realistically, if you major in mass communications you’ll end up with a job where the only requirement is a college education, and has nothing to do with what you learned in school.
